Mit tiefer Trauer nehmen wir zur Kenntnis, dass am 25. August 2010 ein lieber Mensch nach langer und schwerer Krankheit von uns gegangen ist. Wer Cheri kannte, weiß wie viel Glück sie uns mit ihrer Musik und einem freundlichen Lächeln schenken konnte. Danke Cheri!

Unsere Gedanken sind bei ihrem langjährigen Lebenspartner André Cholmondeley dem es daher leider nicht möglich war das diesjährige Festival zu besuchen. Hab Stärke und Vertrauen in die Zukunft.

» Frank Zappa - 70th Birthday Celebration - Roundhouse/London

Frank Zappa would have turned 70 on this year's 21st of December. There are several ways to celebrate this day: Play your favorite record, take a plane and pilgrimage to his gravesite, or celebrate a terrific party.

The team from Roundhouse in London is organizing a zappaesque birthday party together with Gail Zappa and the Family Trust. Duration: Three long days from November 5th to November 7th, 2010.

When Bob from Vancouver is flying to Germany in the mid of August he put all his money into this trip - and he won't go to Heidelberg or Berlin, but solely to a small festival at the baltic sea: the Zappanale. What is it that makes him going there? What kind of "sickness" makes the aficionados of progressive rock music from all over the world do a pilgrimage to Bad Doberan?

The aim of the documentation Like a Sickness is to unravel the secrets of the phenonemon Zappanale and the passion for the music of Frank Zappa. This preview will show a cut-out from the new documentary film. Don't miss it on Wednesday, August 11, at 6.30 p.m. at Kamptheater!

August 11-15, 2010, Bad Doberan:

The exhibition is reflecting 20 years of Zappanale and one part is giving information especially about 'Zappa and the GDR'.

Those of you who experienced the GDR will recognize a lot, all others will get a better understanding.
