At first they got enhancement with the rhythm guitar player and singer Zomby Woof and the percussion player and singer Bongo Fury. Later The Kid (bass) and Doctor Lau (keyboard) joined. Until summer 2010 it's likely that the group will still grow. Here everything is possible, no matter if it'll be trumpet, sax or bagpipe, regarding the theme of the band: "music 4 the mindful minority"!
Meanwhile with an extensive repertoire of Zappa titles and a lot of own compositions they became a fantastic live band on festival stages all over Europe. Their show also lives of some bizarre (just wait and see!) and funny moments but all the same they don't get lost in foolishness. In fact their serious standard becomes apparent, especially regarding the complex and partly excessive instrumental parts.
Altogether the interpretations of Uncle Frankie's work are disputatious, too. If modern samples and dance rhythms are going to mate with discolike bass run and fat beats, well this can be kind of a cultural shock. But for this you should be prepared anyway at a Zappanale.
Like their archetype their lyrics are humorous and... let's say 'X-rated'. When they are playing their song "My little Pony" this for sure has nothing to do with a nursery rhyme.
Recently they published their first studio CD with the title "The Short but Legendary Flight of the Dodo". Except for the zappa oriented track "Joe's Cajun Garage" there are solely own composition on this piece of silver. Moreover a pure Zappa tribute CD is currently in planning stages; the title will be "Strictly Frankly".
