Zappanale 01 - 1990
The right location for an open-air party was quickly found in the Althof monastery ruins.
Our first live band ACE 9 did what it could and stood the whole evening on a tractor trailer parked in the ruins of the monastery.
The soup from the goulash cannon and the Schmaltzstullen were delicious anyway and I think everyone liked the soup from the tap of the Stralsund brewery, too. The event was a wonderful weekend for about 40 - 60 like-minded people.
The local authorities also kept their feet still, so there were no problems from that side either. (Consider 50-80 undergrounds in one bunch.)
Since the response to the first Zappanale was very positive, we decided to plan a larger party every year. Musicians with a world-renowned name should perform. Musicians who stood on stage with Uncle Frank. The raisins in the heads were big and there were a lot of ideas.
