Patrice „Candy” Zappa-Porter (US)

Patrice is back again ... "Candy's" last visit to Zappa-Town was at Zappanale #27 and she was a "Special Guest" of the legendary Zappanale #13 where she helped to unveil the Zappa statue.

For the anniversary, Frank Zappa's "little" sister "Candy" - as she was called by her brother Carl because he thought her so cute – will be back with her husband Nolan Porter.

At the age of 13, she performed at the Pit together with her brother Frank and Ray Collins. The Pit was a restaurant her father acquired about 1962 or 1963. It was on Foothill Boulevard, Upland, California. Later she performed the music of her brother Frank a.o. with Nigey Lennon, with Project / Object and the Ed Palermo Big Band. And it's together again with Ed Palermo that we'll see her on the Zappanale stage this year.

Patrice will bring along her new book "My Brother What A Mother - Take 3", which she will present on Thursday at the Kamp Theatre.

In 2003 she published the first part of the book. The second part was published in early 2017.

In 2011, Candy released the album "To Be Perfectly Frank", which contains both Zappa compositions, as well as various audio comments. She wrote the foreword to the anniversary book for the 25-year anniversary of the "Zappanale" festival.
