Who are the brain police?
After the Bundespolizeiorchester Berlin played a great concert in front of an enthusiastic audience at the WarmUp party last year, it was clear that this band had to come to the Zappanale again. And we are very happy that it is already happening again this year. Under the direction of Gerd Herklotz they will play again at the warm-up party on Thursday.
This year there will be further new arrangements of well-known Zappa pieces; what exactly is being worked on has not yet been revealed. Compositions by contemporary composers Frank Ticheli and John Mackey will be presented too and there may also be some new pieces by rock, pop and jazz students from the Dresden and Hanover music academies, with whom the Bundespolizeiorchester Berlin is currently starting a collaboration.
All in all, a promising and colourful program that will definitely bring some surprises.
The concert is a benefit concert for the "Tafel Bad Doberan".
