Kamp Kino Bad Doberan
Dear festival guests,
KOSMISCHE BROCKEN will be hitting the Kamp cinema in Bad Doberan again this year!
For many, it has become a kind of tradition to open the Zappanale with the film KOSMISCHE BROCKEN in the Kamp cinema in Bad Doberan. For hardcore fans and for everyone who is here for the first time, the documentary offers a comprehensive overview of the festival, its history and its creators - and of course about the musician and band leader Frank Zappa.
The filming of KOSMISCHE BROCKEN began more than thirty years ago: three days after the death of Frank Zappa, author and director Jörg Wulf conducted the first interview with Jimmy Carl Black, Bunk Gardner and Don Preston in 1993. In these and many other interviews, musicians who were on stage with Zappa talk about working with Frank, his music and its meaning.
There are also the musical and emotional highlights from twenty years of festival history - the inauguration of the Zappa bust in Bad Doberan, the visit of Candy and Bob Zappa, the farewell to Jimmy Carl Black or the legendary performance of Z3.
Many fans also have their say, a whole series of whom have been part of the Zappanale from the very beginning. You can hardly get a better overview of the festival, its history, the highlights and the organizers:
the documentary film COSMIC BROCKEN will be shown in several screenings before and during the Zappanale in the Kamp cinema in Bad Doberan - with German and English subtitles!
