THE DORF
is a social sculpture that was created in 2006 and has been constantly changing since then.
Around 80 musicians have helped to form this orchestra, which plays at concerts with around 20 people. The Dorf functions like a flock of birds heading south - with extremely efficient inner orientation and a clear goal in mind - a tree on which everyone can chirp together. A unique culture of communication has developed, which is the real secret of this band.
The stylistic cornerstones are jazz, improvisation, punk and new music, but decidedly non-idiomatic, discontinuous but logical - entertaining but complicated - everything you could expect from art. The Dorf is a real live band - with around 300 concerts in their CV, many of them at international festivals.
