Zappanale and a Football World Cup at the same time? We want to show you this year that this fits together. Zappa really had nothing to do with sporting activities and the associated healthy lifestyle: tobacco was his vegetable! Nevertheless, this year we are putting together an exciting exhibition that offers games, fun and art not only to visitors to the Zappanale, but to all football enthusiasts.
Even if you don‘t know anything about football: We promise that everyone will get their money‘s worth in a very entertaining way (even if admission is free as always).
This year, all this will take place in a great location: the Arf tent on the festival grounds offers a wonderful opportunity to present this exhibition to you. So we come to you, you don‘t have to travel long distances and the exhibition is accessible during the entire festival program.
Our Zappanale artist #1 Helmut King is by far not only enthusiastic about Zappa, but also about football. He shows this in many of his works, which he has created on this topic for more than 20 years. These include pictures with the titles „wave“, „penalty“, „red card“ or „volley“. Fun and games are guaranteed at Helmut‘s table football (foosball), where he has already played with Napoleon Murphy Brock, Jimmy Carl Black and Arthur Brown.
And let yourself be surprised: Zappa will also appear again and again at one point or another.
Angel Tejeda makes a fantastic contribution to this, having realized his project with the help of AI. We were inspired by it.
A special event of the exhibition will be an interview with Pamela Des Barres, in which she will certainly also talk about her time as a nanny with the Zappa family and share some anecdotes. She is looking forward to answering your questions about the infamous time at the Log Cabin.
The kick-off for the exhibition will be on Thursday with the start of the festival.
